Normally blood travels through the body pushing against the walls of arteries and vessels at rhythmic pressure as systole and diastole but continuously remaining beyond the normal range called blood pressure that can be low or high. An instrument called a sphygmomanometer helps to measure the blood pressure that should be 120 at systolic and 80 at diastolic in healthy cases.

Mars and Moon are the primary significators of blood and the Sun for the heart. Their connection with the 06th, 08th, and 12th house cause BP. 04th, 08th, and 12th house represent the blood and if these are weak and afflicted, will give BP. Mars, Moon, and Sun, in conjunction, affliction or aspects from malefic planets like Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu are responsible for blood pressure because Saturn is known for obstructions or disturbing the planet for the normal function of the body. Afflicted Moon causes low BP but afflicted and strong Mars causes high blood pressure.

There some constellation represents low blood pressure like Moola and Purva Bhadra and few are concerned with high blood pressure like Purva Phalguni, Uttar Phalguni, and Shatbhisha. Sun under Saturn’s malefic influence, the heart’s function gets disturbed by reducing vital force energy represented by Sun that gives low blood pressure. Malefic Jupiter, a fat forming planet, in connection with the weak Sun also causes high blood pressure.
